Motion Sensor:
A motion sensor (or motion detector) is the linchpin of your security system, because it's the main device that detects when someone is in your home when they shouldn't be. A motion sensor uses one or multiple technologies to detect movement in an area
- Motion sensors improved in World War II.
- First use of motion sensor in the 1940s was by Samuel Bagno.
- Used to determine location of a person within a room.
- And then used to calculate the movement of the stars.
- The first use in World War II with mine.
- Mines placed below the ground would explode when it sense movement on the surface.
- In modern technology it is used in Radar to track enemy.
- Helps in air traffic control to avoid airplane accident.
- Waves are sent out through the detector
- These waves are used to detect movement
- Once the waves hit an object, they are bounced back to the detector.
- The waves bounced back are taken in and encoded
- The encoded information is then transmitted to the decoder.
- The information is then decoded.
- Decoded information is used to activate device.

- Motion sensors can help to increase energy savings such as by turning lights off in unoccupied rooms.
Disadvantage of motion sensor:
- Has made military more dangerous weapons.
- Used in mine explosive and rockets launcher
